Frequently Asked Questions

What type of counselling do you offer?
We offer person-centred counselling. You can read more about this here:

Who do we work with?

Although we were set up as a specialist service for SEND parents, we also work with all individuals that are struggling including adopters, foster carers, those with SGOs and more. You do not need your child to have a diagnosis. You may not think a diagnosis is required for your child. You can still get in touch! Our criteria is not set.
Are Nurture Hub counsellors qualified?
All of our counsellors are qualified and registered with the BACP (or equivalent), unless you have agreed to meet with a trainee, who will always be in their final year of counselling practice. As a specialist organisation, all of our training and organisational CPD is linked to the lived experience. In fact, most of the team do have direct lived experience, so we totally understand how difficult life can be.
What experience do the team have?
As a team, we have lots of lived and professional experience. Please check out our "Meet the Team" page for more information.
What can I talk about at the sessions?
You can talk about anything you want to talk about. It may be related to your child/young person, but it doesn't have to be.
Is talking therapy for me?
Talking therapy isn't right for everyone - but you are welcome to give it a go.
What if I need support with behaviours and don't want counselling?
We also offer this at low cost.  Please email us directly for more information.
